STONE, PHYLLIS GRACE – passed away peacefully at the Welland Extended Care Unit on February 3, 2015 in her 96th year. Loving mother of Trudy (Garry), John (Lorna), Susan (Ken) and Marion (Ron). Dear grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Frederick Kenneth, as well as her sisters Edith and Gertrude.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Thursday February 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A private Family Service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Welland Extended Care Unit and Dr. M. Ali for their many years of care.

June 13, 1925 – January 17, 2015
It is with saddened hearts that Aleda’s family
announce her passing on Saturday, January 17th after
a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Aleda was in her 90th
year and is survived by 5 Children: Glen (Wil) of
Welland; Sharon (Terry Silcox) of Winnipeg, MB;
Barry (Deb) of Port Colborne; Tom of Welland; and
Sandra (Gavin Jung) of Calgary, AB; 10
Grandchildren: Melissa (Derek Kirkpatrick) of
Welland; Jeff (Laura) of Mebane, NC; Jeremy (Laurie)
of Hamilton; Jeremy (Megan), Steven (Melissa), and
Nathan all of Winnipeg, MB; Jory (Adam Martin) of
Welland; Amanda (Robert Flintoft) of Wainfleet;
Leslie (fiancé, Jeremy Slak) of St. Catharines; and
Sierra of Calgary, AB; and 12 Great Grandchildren:
Avonlea, Jack, and McKenna of Mebane, NC; Joseph,
Nate, Katie and Abby of Hamilton; Emily of
Winnipeg, MB; William of Welland; Russell, George
and Victor of Wainfleet. Aleda is also survived by her
sister Kaye Thompson of Markdale, ON; brothers-in-
law: Murray (Jeannie) of Niagara Falls, and Larry
(Sandra) of Toronto and sisters-in-law Bernice (Ed
Taras) of Whitby and Linda Johnston of St.
Catharines. Aleda was predeceased by her husband
Russell (April 2014), her parents William and Della
Ratcliffe, her brother Mac and several brothers- and
sisters-in-law.
Aleda was born in Vandeleur, near Markdale, ON
where there are still many nieces and nephews and
their families. Aleda was involved with the Ladies
group and kitchen committee at Rosedale Baptist
Church for many years. The family would like to
thank the staff of Rapelje Lodge for their care and for
keeping her comfortable even up to her last hours.
Aleda was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother with a kind heart, loving nature
and generous spirit. She will be fondly remembered
and missed by all those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial service for Aleda
will be held in the late spring followed by a private
interment at Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville.

ALTOFT, JOAN ELIZABETH (NASH) – formerly of St. Catharines, Bancroft, Frankford and Picton, passed away in the Welland County General Hospital on Wednesday January 7, 2015 in her 84th year after a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late William and Hannah Nash. Loving wife of the late William (2013). Mother of William (Virginia) of Wainfleet, Gregory (Annette) of Prince George B.C., Christopher (Susan) of Picton, and Stephanie (Wayne) Dillabough of Bancroft. Devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Sister of Nipper (Barbara)Nash, June (Wesley) Miller, Gail (Dennis) Switzer, Linda (Jim) Hale, sister-in-law of Betty (Ron) Nash, Stan (Anne) Altoft, Lillian (Walter) Altoft, Nancy (Gregg) Scott. Predeceased by brother Ronald Nash, brother Harold Nash and his wife Marlene, and brother-in-law Walter Altoft. Joan spent many years working with developmentally challenged individuals in the Niagara and Bancroft areas. Joan and Bill owned and operated the Bancroft KOA Campground for 25 years. She was a devoted and loving mother who took exceptional pride in her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Affectionately called the “Pioneer Woman” by her sisters, she enjoyed reading and the company of her many Labrador Retrievers. In keeping with Joan’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Celebration will be announced at a later date. Our family wishes to express our sincere thanks to all the professional and caring staff of the Continuing Care and ILTC units at the Welland Hospital. TOPOLINSKY, LORNE MICHAEL – Lorne was called home to be with the Lord at the Welland County General Hospital on Monday December 29, 2014 in his 71st year. Loving husband to Joyce. Dear father of Lauri Carthew (Gord) and James (Danuta). Loving grandfather to Alisha (Scott) and Ashley (Brandon). Great grandfather to Damien and Deanna. Lorne is survived by his brother Allan (Beverly). Predeceased by grandchildren Shawn and Patricia, also by his parents Peter and Doris, and his brother Wayne.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday January 9th at 2:00 P.M., at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Service.

Son of the late Ludger Robichaud (2005) and Doralice Robichaud (1984). Predeceased by his sister Therese (1954) and brother Rene (1971). George is survived by his brothers Jacques (Eva), Claude (Linda), Michel (Doris) and Andre (Carmen). George will be sadly missed by Babe, Roy and Elizabeth Toms, brother in law Roy and sister in law Sherry Fazzalari (Aldo), as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. George will be greatly missed by his co pilot Chloe. George will never be forgotten. When friends gather the Booming voice that once filled the room with laughter is at rest and he has left us with memories ever after. Rest In Peace George. Age 93 passed away peacefully at Lookout Ridge on December 30, 2014 with his wife by his side. He will be sadly missed by family and friends, leaving behind his wife Maple (Lake) of 70 years, daughter Pat Higgins (Al) and son Norm (Pam), 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Norm was a retired member of the Labourers Union Local 837 and a very proud Veteran of WWII. He loved to joke and tease, fish and garden. Norm’s wishes are being respected, there will be no Visitation, Cremation has taken place, private Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines ON. A very special thank you to the staff at Lookout Ridge in Fonthill for their loving care.
