It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of “Jacki” Eleanor Carson July 20, 2024, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by husband Grant Carson and her parents Archie & Audrey Pearson.

Jacki was the most devoted mom to Robin & Sean (Melissa). Special Gram to Jessie (Emily) & Grant (Kate) and extra special GiGi to Ellie & Cora. Also loved by her fur baby Cory.

Her smile and bling lit up a room as soon as she walked into it! She’ll be missed by many. Cremation has taken place and celebration of life will be determined at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home.

Passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024 at Welland County General Hospital, in his 92nd year, with his loving sons by his side. Mike was born on November 7, 1932 in Welland, Ontario, grew up in Welland South, and lived most of his life in Fenwick. He is predeceased by his niece Susan, sisters Ann and Mary, parents Fred and Nellie, and Mary, his wife of over 63 years. Mike is survived by his sister Kay, brother Ron (Dianne), sons Marty (Sue) and Mike (Susan), grandchildren Heather (Al), Richard (Katie), Alison, Matthew (Nicole), Michael (Shaney), Daniel (Shannon) and Emily, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mike fondly remembered his childhood in Welland South, where his happy experiences included swimming in the canal, playing with his dogs, skiing on barrel staves and boxing under the streetlights. However, he lost his father at the age of 14 and mourned this loss throughout his life. He spared his family from a similar loss by vigorously advocating for better medical care for his wife Mary, saving her from a nearly fatal illness.

Mike worked very hard throughout his life. He built two homes in Fenwick, and was still mowing about 2 acres of lawn in his 90th year. He was an extremely talented artist and craftsman who completed a wide variety of works. These included oil paintings, motorcycle and automobile graphics, murals in the tunnels at Page-Hersey (where he was employed for 33 years), textbook and safety manual illustrations, colouring books, cartoons and commercial signage (from gold leaf on office doors to barn walls visible from blocks away). He used these talents in his involvement in an environmental campaign. He enjoyed fishing, wine- and beer-making, researching and archiving Internet articles, video recording family events, gardening, and tinkering with just about anything that caught his attention. More recently, entertainment included Solitaire and Sudoku on the computer, and watching the Raptors.

He was the Dad who was always there to drive to basketball practices or games, and support his boys with anything they were doing. He was the best taste-tester for Mary’s cooking, and an enthusiastic collaborator in many of her crafts. Mike was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and was a devoted Gido to his grandchildren. His family must take comfort in his being re-united with Mary, who he has missed so deeply since her passing in 2015.

Many thanks to Dr. Saquib Ansari, the supportive staff and his friends at Plymouth Cordage, and the caring nurses in the ER and 3 South. At Mike’s request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home, Fenwick, ON. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. With broken hearts we announce the passing of Cyril Barry Warren, 73 years old, of Welland on May 5, 2024, at the St. Catharines Hospital, after a brief, but hard fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He remained kind hearted and kept his sense of humour until the very end.

Cyril was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Cyril and Ida Warren. He grew up with 3 brothers and 1 sister. He leaves behind his loving wife Marjorie of 53 years, his sons Roger and his wife Colleen and Dwayne and his partner Kate. He will never be forgotten by his grandchildren Kaden, Ryland, Lainie as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his loving friends Alex, Kyle, Jennifer, Rebecca, Sebastien and Alex V.

Cyril was employed by McDonald’s Restaurants for a total of 30 years before retiring due to his illness. Cyril loved serving his community for his entire life. Most recently he has been making a difference in supporting his gang throughout the community.

Special thanks to Jennifer Elliot for continuing his legacy and thanks to Fabio for his thoughtfulness. Also, thanks to Dr. Clayden and Anna from the Walker Family Cancer Clinic and the nurses and PSWs of 3B at the St. Catharines Hospital. A heartfelt thank you to Prisca, Cherise, Amy, Trista, Wilson and Jeremy for your outstanding care and compassion for Cyril throughout his illness.

All will be welcomed to visit Cyril’s family on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11am at Lampman Funeral Home, followed by an interment at North Pelham Cemetery. Memorial donations in Cyril’s name made to the YMCA Niagara Centre Strong Kids would be appreciated by the family. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Ronek on Thursday April 25, 2024 at the age of 88. Loving husband of 53 years to Rose Marie Ronek. Survived by his sister in law and brother in law Marion (Clyde) Little. He will be missed by his nieces Rosanne (Mike) Mantesso, Roxanne (Rob) Souter and Rosalee (Peter) Van Helsdingen and great nieces Rachel Mantesso, Makayla Van Helsdingen and great nephew Michael Van Helsdingen. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Lillian Ronek and inlaws May and Blake Hodgkins, brothers in law Oscar Hodgkins and Frank Hodgkins.

Roger was an avid ham radio operator and he loved to travel, especially by train. He retired after an exciting career from the National Park Service in the United States of America. He loved to share his stories about his adventures, loved camping, model trains and had a great sense of humour. He will be missed greatly by many friends and family.

All will be welcomed to visit Roger’s family on Wednesday May 8, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick, ON. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 4 St. Andrew’s Ave, Welland, ON on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11am. A Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. With heavy hearts, the family of Kors Pater announce his peaceful passing at Niagara Health-St. Catharines Site on April 26, 2024 at the age of 76 with family by his side from complications of ALS. He was born April 1, 1948 in Maarsbergen (Marne) Holland to his parents Kors and Catharina Pater, both deceased. He came to Canada as a young boy, with his parents and siblings, landing at Pier 21 In Nova Scotia. The family eventually made their way to St. Catharines-making it home.
He started his working career at Dominion Food Stores as a grocery clerk and worked for many years for. A&P/Metro as a produce /grocery clerk and eventually became an assistant store manager. He made several friends throughout those years and continued to keep in touch with many of them over the years.
Kors enjoyed Southern Gospel and country music especially The Statler Brothers and The Gaithers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening , tending to his yard and his fur babies (Tippy, Amber, Nicki and Chelsea). He was an avid hockey and baseball fan especially the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Anne and he will be dearly missed by his children Kors Jr (Heather) Pater, Lori (Ben) Vanderwerf and Jeremy Pater. 10 grandchildren-Kwynn, Aiden(Piper), Jakob, Matthew, Kayla, Abby(Auggie), Grayce, Kaden, Tyler and Zachariah. He will be missed by his sisters Klazina(Dick), Clara(Al), Elizabeth(David) as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by extended family and many friends, especially his neighbours on Else Street who became like family to him. Kors and Anne attended Bethel Baptist and Calvary Church for many years. His faith sustained him throughout the years and in one of his final moments told the nursing staff “I have an appointment with the man upstairs”. He had a quick wit and a quirky sense of humour.
Family will receive friends and family at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd. Fenwick from 10-12 on Friday May 3, 2024 followed by a service at 12:30.
Inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Ridgeville.
The family would like to thank his friends and family for all the support over the years and to the doctors and nurses who made his final moments comfortable, especially Dr Matthews and Dr Maddison. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Allen Collard on April 23, 2024 at the age of 71 after a battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Leanna Collard. He will be missed by his siblings Janet (Sam) Wells, Marilyn Collard, Donald Collard, Keith Collard, Ethel (Vince) Drouin, Carol Nero, Brenda (Doug) Carter and Tim Collard. He is also survived by his numerous extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Florence Collard, his grandson Tyler Collard, ex wife Val Collard (nee Dilts), his brother Ronald Collard, his sister in law Frances Collard and brother in law Carlo Nero. A special thank you to great friends Jackie Daboll and Kevin Banford for their support and care in making Bruce’s final days content. In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Gilbert on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 80. She is now reunited with Ted Frail (2007). Loving Mom of Rachel (Ken) Leslie and Danny (Michelle) Gilbert. Cherished Nanny to Dustin, Adam, Kristen, Bryan, Shannon, Kyle and Lexi. Special Great Grandma to Emma, Arlo, Michael, Mason, Aubrey, Harlie and Colton. She is survived by her sister in law Mariah Kingsbury. Predeceased by her parents Hormidas and Aldea Kingsbury, her brother Rene Kingsbury, her sister Jeannine Tardif, brother in law Rejean Tardif and son Dennis Gilbert.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on May 12, 2024 at the Port Colborne Legion 1:00pm-4:00pm.
