The family of Karl Gullett announces his passing on July 30, 2026, at the age of 84. He was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, teacher, and coach who left an indelible mark on his community.
For 56 years, Karl was a devoted husband to Charlotte. Together, they built a beautiful life in the small town of Wainfleet, establishing a legacy that lives on through his wife, their three children—Cori [Kraig], Brent [Lisa], and Allison [Matt]—as well as six cherished grandchildren— Garrett [Taylor], Cassidy, Kaylen, Kollin, Chase, Ainsley, Nash, and one great-grandchild— Aurora.
Karl was a man of few words, but his support and dependable presence spoke louder.
As a man of action, he always made sure that his family was taken care of before himself. He famously hated planes, trains, and automobiles, but that never stopped him from traveling and showing up for every family moment. In the driver’s seat of his van of choice, with the Beatles’ top hits album playing— no road trip was too far. Outside of his family, he dedicated his career to shaping young lives as an elementary school physical education teacher and a sports coach for his children and students.
He was an avid fan of the Yankees and the Maple Leafs, but in turn was also their harshest critic. Karl was never afraid to voice his sharp opinions on sports, politics, and the weather.
Karl was a well-rounded athlete who played baseball and hockey for most of his life. He then transitioned his competitive spirit to golf, an activity he deeply enjoyed playing with his close friends until his final days. His dedication to his family, students, and friends will be long remembered by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering held at a later date.
