December 19, 1927 – September 17, 2024
Grace Kooistra, a beloved Wife, Mother, Oma and great-Oma has left us. She passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital at the age of 96.
Grace was a homemaker, seamstress, crochet and knitter extraordinaire. Always active, always busy, she will be much missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Grace was predeceased by her husband, Gerry (2003). Her children, Robert, John (Deb), Rosemary Chambers (Gary) and Dave (Evelyn) say goodbye Mom. You taught us well and modeled Christian life to us all. Mom you always did your best and gave your best without reservation. Her nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren were greatly loved and will miss their Oma tremendously. Grace was the youngest in her family. She was predeceased by her three brothers and her sister. She has now closed the circle.
Mom you “fought the good fight and have finished the race and have kept the faith”. II Timothy 4:7.
Heartfelt thanks to the nursing and support staff at Shorthills Retirement Villa in Fonthill, and the 6th floor staff at the Welland Hospital. Their kindness and compassion went far beyond our expectations.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Lampman Funeral Home, Fenwick. A private interment will take place at 9:30am on September 23, 2024 followed by visitation at Trinity URC, 99 Scott Street, St. Catharines, from 11am-12pm.
