It is with extremely heavy hearts we announce the passing of Deborah “Debbie” Smith (Hoover) on February 27, 2023 at the age of 69. Loving mother to Traci (Todd),best Gaga ever to Phoenix and Nova, daughter of Vera Irvine. Predeceased by brother Gord, sister Sheila and father Robert.
Debbie worked for DSBN for 35 years before retiring in 2018 and was also a CUPE union activist for 30 years. After retiring her world and time revolved around her 2 grandbabies and she wouldn’t have had it any other way.
“Love you to the moon and back Gaga, we’ll see you in the stars”.
In keeping with Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations made in Debbie’s name to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

We met by chance 15 years ago when I move in the area ,and we become very good friends. Debbie was one of those person if you treat her with respect and kindness she would return it with such Passion and kindness. I will miss that big heart and personality of hers. I will always remember our time together.
