Passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 at the age of 68.
Born on January 23, 1958, in St. Catharines, Ontario, she was the beloved daughter of Giulio and Damia Pecci (both predeceased). Elsa shared a beautiful life with her lifelong husband, Ken Welker, with whom she created countless memories throughout their nearly five decades together. Elsa is survived by her loving children, Jennifer (Brandon) and Kendall (Kyle), who will forever carry her strength, love, and guidance in their hearts. She was the proud and adoring Nonna of her treasured granddaughters, Scarlett and Stella, who brought immense joy and light into her life. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Tina (Peter) Passero. Growing up together in a traditional Italian household, Elsa and Tina were inseparable. Their childhood was filled with family, food, laughter, and traditions that shaped them into the women they became. Their bond remained unbreakable throughout their lives — a relationship built on love, shared memories, and an unspoken closeness that everyone around them could feel.
Elsa also cherished her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She created wonderful memories with them over the years, memories they will carry with them always. Throughout her life, Elsa was surrounded by deep and meaningful friendships. She shared a lifelong trio with her dearest friends Mary‑Jo and Teresa, a sisterhood filled with laughter, unwavering support, and memories that spanned decades. Teresa, who passed away this past Valentine’s Day, remained forever close to Elsa’s heart. Later in life, Elsa found another extraordinary friend in Kerry, whose presence became a true blessing. Their bond grew quickly and deeply, and Kerry stood faithfully by Elsa’s side through every moment, offering comfort, strength, and companionship until the very end. Elsa spent the last three years at Linhaven, where she was cared for with compassion. Despite the challenges she faced, her days were brightened by the company of her beloved little dog, Chichi. Ken lovingly brought Chichi for regular visits, bringing Elsa joy, comfort, and a sense of home that meant the world to her. Her love for animals was constant throughout her life, and Chichi held a very special place in her heart. Elsa cherished every moment spent with her daughters. Together, they created countless lifetime memories, including multiple New Kids on the Block cruises and concerts. Elsa had a deep love for music, and concerts were among her greatest joys. Whether she was listening to John Denver, singing along to The Tragically Hip, or travelling with her girls to see their favourite bands, music was woven into many of their happiest moments. Their adventures took them to many countries and unforgettable excursions—experiences filled with laughter, music, and a shared joy that strengthened their bond in the most beautiful ways. Anyone who met Elsa knew she was special. She cared for everyone with her whole heart and was truly the kindest soul. Her battle with Parkinson’s, which began when she was just 48, never changed her outlook on life. She faced every day with courage and grace, never complained, and was always quick to share a smile or offer a listening ear. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering strength touched everyone around her. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Linhaven for loving Elsa like family. Their kindness, support, and patience—especially over the last couple of months—brought comfort and reassurance to both Elsa and those who loved her. Their care will forever be remembered with gratitude. Mom will live forever in our hearts. She is already deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is finally at peace. All are welcome to visit with Elsa’s family on Wednesday, March 4th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., and on Thursday, March 5th, from 10:00–11:00 a.m at Lampman Funereal Home 724 Canboro Rd., Fenwick, ON. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Lampman Funeral Chapel. If desired, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Canada in Elsa’s memory.
