SHIRLEY ANNE JACKSON

 

Shirley Anne Jackson (Francis) born December 6, 1939, passed peacefully on Saturday May 3, 2025, in Orillia at the age of 85, with her loving family by her side. Shirley was the loving wife of Melvin Jackson for 61 years. She was the cherished mother to two handsome boys, Brian Jackson (Karen) and Dennis Jackson (Darlene). She will be missed by her grandchildren whom she adored; Jason Jackson (Stephanie), Robert Jackson (Meaghan Johnson), Brittany Johnson (James), Brooke Saari (Kyle), Tyler Jackson (Jessica). Shirley was blessed by her great-grandchildren, Jace & Cooper Johnson, Wyatt, Levi & Blake Jackson, Karson & Nico Saari, and Alexis Jackson.

Shirley will be sadly missed by her siblings, Evelyn Alexander, Sydney Francis (Sidney), Doug Francis (Barb), and her sister-in-law Leeta Gagnon (Claude). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews and her card playing friends. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Don Elliott and Fred Alexander and sister-in-law Gerry Francis. Predeceased by her parents; Robert & Vera Francis and her in-laws Gladys and Jay Jackson.

Shirley was a registered nurse since 1963 and left the profession in 1964 to run the family business, Jackson’s Auto Body & Wreckers with her husband Melvin for 59 years. She enjoyed her jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and Mahjong games. As well as, playing card games with her family and friends. She loved her summer vacations in Orillia, spending time with family and friends throughout the trailer park and fishing. She was a devoted member of the Fenwick United Church.

Visitation will be held at 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Lampman Funeral Home at 724 Canboro Rd., Fenwick. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday May 8, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home with interment to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Wainfleet.

Donations given to Fenwick United Church or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home.
