Dorothy Frances “Fran”
Dorothy Frances “Fran” Johnson (nee Newman) passed away peacefully on January 13th in her 91st year.
Fran is survived by her husband Roy of 68 years and her daughters Diane Cumming (Harry) and Jill Johnson (Andre), her brother Jim Newman, brother-in-law George Novis and sister-in-law Elaine Newman (Norris). She is predeceased by her parents May and William James Newman, siblings June, Claire, Pansy, Norris, Colleen, Barbara and Ann and their spouses.
Fran was a vendor at the Dunnville Farmers Market for over 60 years and is fondly remembered by her fellow vendors and customers. She often remarked that Roy has to be home and in the orchard, because I don’t know anything about that. Now this I can do.
Fran was a member of First Presbyterian Church in North Pelham where she served as Clerk of Session, a Willing Worker, held bible study and was a regular at their quilting sessions.
Friends and family will be welcomed on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2pm-4pm at Lampman Funeral Home, 724 Canboro Rd, Fenwick. A Funeral Service will be held at North Pelham Presbyterian Church, 602 Metler Rd, North Pelham, on January 19, 2026 at 1pm with interment to follow at North Pelham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to North Pelham Presbyterian Church, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home. www.lampmanfuneralhome.com

Fran touched many of our lives and our customers lives with her spirit, her humor, and her unwavering support of our market community for over 60 years. She will be deeply missed, but her presence will continue to be felt through the memories and moments she helped create at our market.
I’m so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing Diane. Fran was such a lovely lady, and I’m grateful I had the chance to get to know her at the Dunnville Farmers Market. I’m thinking of you your dad and your family during this difficult time.
I am sadden by the news of Fran’s passing. My condolences to Roy, Dianne and Jill and their families.
As a devoted vendor at the Dunnville Farmers Market and a strong advocate for our New Market building in Dunnville, I extend my sincere condolences to the Johnson family, may you find comfort in the love and support of those around you.
My ‘Auntie Fran’ was a loving, positive influence all my life, from having me for sleepovers as a child to taking the time to write me letters with news from home when I moved overseas in my early twenties to comforting me decades later in my grief at losing my own mother (her younger sister). She reminded us all that we were family, we always were welcome and that we mattered to her. She had an indefatigable spirit, a towering work ethic, a laugh you could hear a mile away and a smile that lit up the room. How I shall miss you, Auntie Fran! May you rest in peace.
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother and Roy’s wife of 67 years.
I still have the flower arrangements she gave me. ❤️
I have made a donation to Hospice Wellington in her honour
Diane, we were so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother, our condolences on your loss.
Roy and family our hearts and prayers are with you
We, as a family have, known Fran and Roy our entire lives. Best neighbours ever! Fran was always interested in what was going on in our small community. She always cared. She was a great listener. God Speed to Fran. The Queen Mum of North Pelham
