DOUGLAS CULVER CHAMBERS
CHAMBERS, DOUGLAS CULVER – with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug in his 68th year on April 23, 2015 at his home in Cooks Mills after a brief illness. A great man, he is survived by his loving partner of 23 years, Connie Pilot Michael, son Ryan (Laura), daughter Lauren, two grandsons (“Poppa’s Boys”), Octavious and Zavien. Also survived by his brother Stan, sister Linda Kun (Dave), brothers in law Wayne Redshaw and Dennis Pilot (Angel), sisters in law Margaret Chambers, Sharon Howe (Jim), Dianne Perrella and mother in law Reta Pilot as well as several nieces and nephews.
Doug was predeceased by his parents George and Melba Chambers, sister Dianne Redshaw and father in law Andrew Pilot. He will be remembered for his passion for the outdoors, his dedication to feeding his birds, his love of the family cottage, his joy from fishing in his boat, and his love of Christmas. Doug was actively involved in sports for many years and played on multiple championship teams in baseball and hockey as a goaltender. He was also a die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Doug was a “Mr. Fix-it” and always enjoyed helping out family, neighbours and friends. He also enjoyed working on his cars, bikes, snowblowers and tractors. Doug retired from Canada Post in 2008 after many years of service. He was also employed in his early years at Fonthill Lumber. Doug had many friends at Trapper’s Sports Bar, and he especially enjoyed his Sunday Buddies, “Cement Heads”, for many years. Doug was happiest when he was with family playing pool, enjoying every moment with grandkids and sitting out back with Connie.
As per Doug’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and a private burial of his ashes will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Doug’s life will take place on Saturday May 9th at 1:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Church of God, 8652 Sodom Road, Chippawa (corner of Main and Sodom Road). Special thanks to the Walker Family Cancer Centre and Dr. Bak for their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s Memory to the Welland Minor Hockey Association or the Canadian Cancer Society. IFTODY, EVA – passed away with family by her side on Saturday February 28, 2015 at Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie, in her 80th year. Loving sister of Pat (Robert), Sam (Margaret) and Mike (Barbara), and sister in law Shirley. Auntie Eve will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and special nephew George who was a great support and care provider for the past 5 years. Predeceased by parents Steve and Georgina, brothers George, Bill and John, and sister in law Helen. Eva was a Registered Nurse and worked in Niagara Falls NY for 10 years, then returned home to continue her career at the Welland County General Hospital until she retired in 1992. Her most gratifying part of her life was co-owner of Hollo-Maple Farms and her four legged pal Rocky. Eve’s family wish to thank Dr.Scher and all the staff of Maple Park Lodge for the care and compassion provided.

CLYDE EDWARD DANIELS
DANIELS, CLYDE EDWARD – December 8, 1928 – February 11, 2015. Clyde was born in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia. He moved to Pelham where he found a job at a canning factory and then at E. S. Fox. Clyde worked at E. S. Fox for many years as a sheet metal mechanic and didn’t hang up his tools until he was 70. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (2001) and brothers Harold and Clarence. Father to Mary Ann Fee (Jeffrey), Sharon, and Tracy Osborne-Ringler (Terry). Clyde was a resident of Ridgeville until he was 85, then moved to the Orchards Retirement Residence for the past year and a half. Brother to Helene MacCartney, Scarborough, Alice Fraser, Hopewell Nova Scotia, and Joyce Gill, Anaheim California. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Saturday February 14, 2015 from 11:00 to 12:30 P.M. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:30 P.M. Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
