Norman Edwin Hardy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, at Walker House Hospice in Welland, surrounded by his family, at the age of 86. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Lyla (Warner) of 61 years; daughter, Colleen (Kevin); granddaughter, Mikayla (Bryan); and great-granddaughter, Jaycee. He is also survived by his adopted son, Donald (Dawn), and grandchildren Michael, Erin, Jennifer, Sarah Jane, along with great-granddaughter, Jordyn. Norman is remembered by his siblings: Joyce (Bill, deceased), Bill (Dorothy), Vera (Vince, deceased), Gord (Helen), and Barry(Karen). His in-laws include Eric (Jessie, both deceased), Elsie (Clarence, both deceased),Harold (Mary, Myrtle, all deceased), Bruce (deceased), Helen, Marion (Tom, both deceased),Janet (Doug), and Archie (Bonnie). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Christian Rabbat of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton nephrology department for many years of care before transferring his care closer to home. Thank you to Dr. Kathleen Quinn of Niagara Health – Welland Site, for the last six years of support, the Welland dialysis unit, and the dedicated staff and nurses there. Special thanks to Krista Torraville, for her guidance over the years in the dialysis unit, and to the PSWs from Paramed for their care and assistance at home. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Walker House for their love and support for Norm and his family. Finally, thanks to Pastor Stephen Hare for his spiritual care over the past several years. Norman was a lifelong dairy farmer residing in Wellandport. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and cherished camping trips with Lyla, traveling to both the West Coast and East Coast of Canada. Their favorite camping destination was Algonquin Park, where they enjoyed canoeing, biking, hiking and fishing. Coffee time for family and friends will be held at Winger Church Hall on June 20, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. at 43238 Hwy. #3, Wainfleet. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Winger Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home, located at 724 Canboro Rd., Fenwick, ON (905-892-4701).
