MARIANNE STEWART

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marianne Stewart, of Fenwick, on April 29, 2026. She is missed and loved by her husband Mike, her daughter Laura, and son Ian, her brother Jim Marando (Betty), sisters Patricia Sloane, Sandra Addis and Christine Pascotto (Mario), all the nieces and nephews, along with the many colleagues and friends has she earned and stood by over the years.

Marianne was a fearlessly brave, creative woman. A firm believer in independent business, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to create The Fenwick Pizza Company, and later Fenwick Pie Company. Her passion thrived by sharing her delicious creations with the local community, and it is how she became known to many as The Pizza Lady and The Pie Lady.

Advocating for the importance of libraries, she fundraised for the Friends of the Maple Acre Library. Upon retiring, her unrelenting vision to stand up for what she believed would benefit her community, Marianne campaigned and was honoured to become a Councillor for the Town of Pelham, where the library remained a core focus.

She has been described as a powerhouse, a matriarch, a guiding light, (even though she probably wouldn’t like that term). She was a pragmatic and relentlessly hard worker. She cared deeply for her family, friends, community and town of Fenwick. All that along with being a fantastic Mom.

Impossible to leave out would be her incredible wit, sense of humour, and the laughs she has shared with so many of us through her lifetime. Marianne was a truly authentic and unstoppable force to be celebrated.

In keeping with Marianne’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life is to be planned for a later date. Donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lampman Funeral Home. www.lampmanfuneralhome.com
