Suddenly on Friday June 30, 2017 William Thies of Fenwick in his 74th year. Loving husband to Alice. Loving father of Natalie Posthumus (Rob), George (Janis), Mary-Ann Hummel (Mike) and Emily Linde (Chris). Dearly beloved Opa to Julia, Taylor, Jade, William, Derrick, Sammy, Kahne, Jasmine, Sawyer, Beckham and Christina. William is survived by his sisters Mary Hobers (Jerry) and Jane Lottering and his brother John (Evelyn). Also by his sister in law Corrie Fabor (John) and several brothers and sisters in law in The Netherlands.Passing before William was his brother in law Harm Lottering. William was a dearly loved and respected Principal and teacher at Wellandport Christian School for 33 years. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethany Christian Reformed Church in Fenwick on Wednesday July 5th at 1:00 P.M. Private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Ridgeville prior to the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday July 4th at the church from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Dear grandmother to Cori (Kraig), Brent (Lisa), Allison (Matt) and Ricci. Great grandmother to Garrett, Cassidy, Kaylen, Chase, Ainsley and Nash. Predeceased by her husband Clarence and brother Arthur Moore. A Private Family Service was held at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road Fenwick followed by Interment at Zion Cemetery in Wainfleet.

On Tuesday June 6, 2017 Lillian Knisley (Beckett) passed away in her 94th year. She leaves behind daughters Sheila Beamer (Glenn), Shirley Junkin (Jack) and stepdaughter Sharon Tupper. Survived by sisters Carolyn Laughlin, Joyce Watson and grandchildren Shelley (Derek) Jacqualyn (Rich), Jeff (Laurie), Jason (Jody), Jenifer (Tom) and eight grandchildren. Pre-deceased by husband Ken in 2004 and Bill in 1998. Will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Born in Grantham Township, she served in the Women’s Army Corps in World War II. For many years she worked on the family farm and Mom enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Thanks to the Staff at Short Hills Villa The South Niagara Palliative Care Team – Dr. Dooler and R.N.’s Colleen & Jocelyn and to the P.S.W.’s for their passionate care. GRACEY, EDWIN BLAKE – Peacefully at his residence on Tuesday May 23, 2017 in his 77th year. Beloved partner of Joan White for 24 years. Dear friend of Leslie, Craig White, Gwen Artichuk and Mark Wiley. He will be sadly missed by many friends and countless cousins. Blake was born and lived all of his years on the family Century Farm in West Lincoln. The Funeral Service will take place at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Friday May 26th at 11:00 A.M. Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Wellandport to follow. DILTS, CHARLES – peacefully at his residence on Sunday May 14, 2017 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Bousfield) for 52 years. Loving father of Christopher, Lee (Jodi) and Michael. Dearly loved grandfather of Dakota, Sarah (Austin), Elissa and Cassandra, and his great grandson Mason. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Willy and Robert and his sister Doreen. Predeceased by his siblings Don, Dorothy and Helen. Charles was retired from General Motors after 34 years of faithful service. MURIEL AUDREY HODGKINS (nee Doan)

HODGKINS, MURIEL AUDREY (Nee Doan) at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday May 10, 2017. Born August 31, 1921 in Port Colborne. Survived by her husband of 73 years, Harold Hodgkins, as well as daughters Linda Badcock (Len), Tricia Reid (Gerry), Janet Hodgkins (David Fowler), Wendy Hodgkins (Peter Blackmore), Karen Durfy (Bill). Also survived by eight grandchildren: Ellen Badcock, Christopher Badcock, Sara Walters, Brooke Reid, Timothy Fowler, Paul Fowler, Meredith Durfy and Gillian Durfy. Also survived by a sister, June Davis. Predeceased by her brother Stuart Doan. Muriel was a primary school teacher and an instructor at Niagara College. She was an active member of the O’Reilly’s Bridge Women’s Institute, and a member of the Wainfleet Historical Society. She was an avid gardener; her goal was to rival the Niagara Parks flower gardens. She was renowned for her baking, especially her pies. She was an excellent seamstress. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed doing daily crossword puzzles. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Wednesday May 17th at 11:00 A.M. Visiting Tuesday May 16th from 7-9 P.M. Memorial donations may be made to the Wainfleet Public Library or to the Wainfleet Historical Society if desired.

Arthur is survived by his wife Mary Jane (nee Shoalts), son John Mark from his first marriage, cousins Jean Smith, Lachland Watson and Donald Watson. Also by sisters in law Irene MacGregor, Marion Mooradian, brother in law Robert Armstrong and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Martha Viola (nee Armstrong),parents Arthur James Sr. and Elizabeth McLean Robinson, sisters Rose and Beatrice Robinson , stepfather William Allen, one still born child in 1953, son Paul Douglas (1955), Uncle William and Aunt Mary Watson.
