Dear mother of Pat Henderson, Robert (Margaret), Bill (Marlene), Vern (Mary), and Ron (Cheryl). Loving grandmother to eight and great-grandmother of nine.

Predeceased by her husband Bruce, and 4 grandchildren, Brother Fred Kappler and sisters Marion Langam and Melba Chambers.

Resting at the Lampman funeral home 724 Canboro Rd., Fenwick for funeral service in the Lampman chapel on October 28 at 11:00 AM. Cremation to follow. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.

ROBERT (BOB) JOLLIFFE

JOLLIFFE, ROBERT (BOB) – at the Welland County General Hospital on Friday October 3, 2014, Robert Jolliffe of Port Robinson in his 80th year. Dear father of Catherine, David (Donna), and Patti Goodfield (Mark). Loving grandfather to Betsy (David), Sarah, Matthew, Tyler, Jacob, and Noah. Great grandfather to Charlie, Robert and Henry. Robert is survived by his sister Mary-Beth Anger and his special friend Shirley Rate. Predeceased by his wife Eleanor (2012) and daughter Joanne (2012). Bob was a proud member of The Port Robinson Fire Department since 1959 and was Chief for seven years. He was a founding member of the Niagara Fire Buffs, and an active Board Member of the F.F.A.O. He was an avid golfer and a long time member of Whiskey Run Golf Course, and was a member of the Atlas Bowling League. He was also a volunteer for the Special Olympics and a recipient of the Diamond Jubilee Award. Bob worked at B.F. Goodrich for many years before his retirement. He loved to garden and woodcarve.

Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick for Visitation on Monday October 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday October 7th at 11:00 A.M. at the Fonthill United Church. Cremation to follow. Donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

MATTHEWS, EVELYN CATHARINE – at her late residence in Hamilton on Tuesday September 23, 2014, in her 82nd year. Loving Aunt to Donald, Richard and Allen. Respecting Evelyn’s wishes Cremation has taken place. There will be a Private Interment of Ashes at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick.

OSTROSSER, ZETA ELIZABETH – at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines on Tuesday September 30, 2014, Zeta Ostrosser formerly of Fenwick in her 94th year. Dear mother of Merla Kimber (Len deceased 2012), Dave (Sue) and Ron (Myrna). Proud grandmother of five and great grandmother of six. Ken and Zeta celebrated 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2007. Zeta was predeceased by her only sister Erma Holloway in 1994. Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick for Funeral Service in the LAMPMAN CHAPEL on Thursday October 2nd at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Service. Interment at Lane Cemetery in St. Anns to follow. Donations to Hospice Niagara or Fenwick Church of Christ would be appreciated by the family.

God in his wisdom called home his servant at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2014 John T. Hessels of Wainfleet Ontario in is 86 year. Beloved husband of Anna (Doggen) Hessels, dear father Henry (predeceased wife Connie), John, Al (Liz), Ted (Yvonne), Rick (Theresa) , Dave (Edna), Ken (Pam). Cherished grandfather of 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brother Jans, sister Mina, Atje and sister in law Ank. Survived by sister Jante (Roelof), Brother Hans (Fygje), Annie (Kor), brothers and sisters in law Piet, Klaasje (Roelof), Koert (Ada), Ina (Rob). Arrangements entrusted to Lampman funeral home. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 28, from 6 pm till 9 PM at Wellandport United Reformed Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 29 at 12 PM at Wellandport United Reformed Church.

Joyce Phelps

Phelps, Joyce RN (Kuiper)

Peacefully on September 21, 2014 after a courageous battle with Alzheimers disease, Joyce passed away at the Woodlands of Sunset. Loving wife of 54 years to Jim, beloved and devoted mother to Vicky (Steve), Gary (Jackie) and Jeff (Lisa). Joyce’s grandchildren were her pride and joy…. Missing her always and forever are Lucas, Avery, Jakob, Matt, Zoe, Nick, Carson, Isabella and Walker. Joyce is predeceased by her parents Leo and Besty Kuiper and sister Tina. Joyce was a graduate of the Mack School of Nursing (1959). She enjoyed traveling, gardening and bird watching. Joyce often shared her love of the opera and ballet with her grandchildren and friends. Most will miss her smile and laughter as she spent time with family and friends. Heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Woodlands of Sunset and Dr.Ali for their loving care. In keeping with Joyce’s wishes cremation and a private family gathering has taken place. Donations in memory of Joyce to the Niagara Chapter of the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.

WOODWARDS, GORDON STANLEY – “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord” Job 1:21. Gord went to be with his Lord on September 18, 2014 at the age of 75. He lived the life he loved on the family farm right up until his final day. He is survived by his loving wife Joan of 57 years. Predeceased by his son Terry (2001) and son in law Jerry Sabourin (2008). Loving dad, grampa and great grampa of Judie Sabourin,Troy and Kat Sabourin, Travis and Judy Sabourin, Teisha Sabourin and Rob Fordham. Deb and Humprey Geerlinks, Heather and Hank Wielink, Neve and Lane, Chad and Jessica Geerlinks, Amber and Bryan Kaastra, Jada, Jack, Tessa and Quinn Geerlinks. Bev and Terry Yungblut, Haley and Fred Turl, Oakley and Breiah, Kyle and Brittany Woodwards and Regan Woodwards.

Family and friends will be received at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Friday September 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Private Family Service and Interment at a later date.

Dorothy Ellen Moote

MOOTE, Dorothy, Ellen (Coon). Dorothy passed away on Monday September 8, 2014 at Bella Senior Care Residence at 101 years. Dorothy was a witty, caring, happy person who loved life. The staff at Bella would see her busying herself with her Circle A Word book she always had with her. In recent months, they knew where Dorothy was as she would love to hum, sometime quite loudly, her favourite Hymns (Sweet Hour of Prayer being one) or songs she remembered from the Lawrence Welk Show. (also a favourite). Mom will be greatly missed by her son Wayne and wife Shirley. Dorothy was so proud of her Grandaughters who respected and loved her so much. Gramma (Grams) will be greatly missed by Lisa (Riley)-Oakville On., Kelly (Paul) Whitehorse, Yukon, Tera (Jason)-Clarksburg, On., Julie (Mike) Ladysmith, B.C. G.G. will be fondly remembered by her Great Grandchildren, Kai, Aja, Elle, Jack, and Georgia. Dorothy is now Home with loved ones who predeceased her. Her husband Glenn (2007), daughter Brenda Jalbert (Stan), brother Elmer Coon (Eva, sister Viola Boucock. The family would like to thank the Staff at Bella Senior Care Residence for the wonderful, thoughtful care and personal attention given to Dorothy through good and hard times and the visits paid to her in the last days. The Hugs and kind word was such a show of respect that meant so much to us. Wayne and Shirley have a Special Thank You to “Nurse Kathy”. Your compassion and care was such a help to us just when we needed it. Thank You.
