ROBERT JOHN SMITH

SMITH, ROBERT JOHN – it is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Bob Smith, in his 71st year on Sunday December 4. After five years of battling several chronic illnesses, and most recently the effects of COPD, his body decided it was time for a rest. Although there is comfort in knowing that he is at peace from his suffering, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind two young grandsons who were his greatest treasures in life, Maxwell and Phoenix. Anyone who knew him, knew that his daughters were his pride and joy. A true family man, everything he did in his life was for his kids. He leaves holes in the hearts of Mindy and her husband Chris, and Traci and her partner, Todd. He loved his ‘sons’ every bit as much as he did his daughters. Also grieving are his siblings, Charlie (Lorraine), Everett (Ada), Rick (Bev), Larry (Carolyn), Dianne (Tim), and sister-in-law Theresa. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Previously deceased by parents Charles and Florence, siblings Shirley, Albert, George, Gloria and Gayle, and grand-daughter Abby. Bob was a retiree from General Motors in St. Catharines where he worked for thirty years. He loved fishing, classic cars and a good steak and lobster dinner.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, December 10 at 3:00 P.M. at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
