MacLEOD, Judith Louise (nee Crockett)

Surrounded by her loving family and following a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Judy passed away at the Welland Hospital on Saturday, Oct 21st, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Boyne (1988). Loving mother of Kim (Frank Lehmann), Tom (Lori), Dale Matzkow (Brian), Lisa (Domenic Cortese), Melody Vahrmeyer (Ron), Stuart (Cindy). Proud Grandmother of Christopher (Caila), Sarah, Matthew, Tyler, Megan, Tommy Stephen, Tricia, Ries, Carter, Max, Devon and Jake. Dear sister of Brian Crockett (Marie) and sister-in-law to Larry MacLeod (Nancy), Kay MacLeod and Margaret MacLeod (the late Dennis). Predeceased by her parents Otis and Audrey Crockett. Judy was a bus driver for over 30 years; a job she truly loved. She will be missed by her students and fellow drivers. Respecting Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Oct 28th at 11:00 am at the Lampman Funeral Home 724 Canboro Rd., Fenwick, Ontario Visitation Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Pelham Cares would be appreciated by the family.

MARIE CLARE

CLARE, MARIE – Marie Clare of Welland passed away on October 12, 2017 in her 88th year. Born to Ethel and Arthur Scott in London, England on October 28, 1929. Predeceased by husband Raymond Moores (1976). Predeceased by her husband of 26 years, William Clare on October 4, 2017. She leaves behind her loving children David (Lesley) Moores, Ann (Wilf) Culp, Wendy (Gerry) Novosel, Kay (Tony) Piunno, Carol Moores (Ian Moat); grandchildren Lesley (Matt) Frey, Lisa (Neil) McDonough, Grant Novosel, Jenna Piunno and great grandchildren Sarah & Andrew Frey, Ryan & Kyle McDonough. She is also survived by (William) Bill’s family; Alan Clare, Gordon (Pam) Clare and Diane (Ron) Poland; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Marie and Ray married at the end of World War II and moved to Canada from England in 1957 with their three small children. Later they had two more children. Marie longed for her British roots and joined the Mountbatten Club. She was a volunteer with the E.L. Crossley marching band and an active member of the Velvetones. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, painting and knitting. Mom and Bill were avid travellers with mom doing most of the driving. She always had a good sense of humour, even during her most difficult days. The family will receive friends at LAMPMANS FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Sunday October 15th, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 16th at 10:30 A.M. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Ridgeville to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimer’s Society/Cancer Society/Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at the Woolcott Wing of the Welland Hospital for the excellent care provided to mom and Bill while they were both under their care at the same time. Mom was moved to Woodlands of Sunset the day before her passing, the residents and nursing staff at Woodlands were very compassionate and provided mom with an honour guard and prayer as a fitting testament to her strength and courage these past few months.

WILLIAM EDWARD CLARE

CLARE, WILLIAM EDWARD – passed away at the Welland County General Hospital on Wednesday October 4, 2017 in his 87th year. Loving husband to Marie. Dear father of Diane Poland (Ron), Gordon (Pam) and Alan. Step father to David Moores (Leslie), Ann Culp (Wilfred), Wendy Novosel (Gerry), Kay Piunno (Tony) and Carol Moores (Ian Moat). Loving grandfather and great grandfather to many.

William is survived by his brothers John (Donna), Robert (Rita) and Donald (Gladys) and sister Sharon Atkins (Dave) and brother in law Richard Lee, as well as many nieces and nephews. William is predeceased by his first wife Doris (1988), new born twins Bill and John (1964) his son James (1981), grandson Bruce (1991) and sisters Marilyn Givens (Edgar) and Phyllis Lee. Bill was a proud member of the Welland Optimists Club, worked for E. S. Fox, was a founding partner of Clare’s Cycle and Sports for many years and was self-employed as Wm. Clare Plumbing and Heating. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road Fenwick on Thursday October 19th at 11:00 A.M. Interment at Fonthill Cemetery to follow. The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 18th, from 6 to 9 P.M.

BELANSKY, DONNA LEONA (nee Ricker) – Passed away peacefully on Thursday September 21, 2017 at the Port Colborne General Hospital in her 92nd year. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe Belansky (1981) and Mike Yakubowski (1996). Loving mother of Robert Belansky (Shirley) and daughter in law Joyce Belansky. Donna is predeceased by her sons Joseph (2016) and Ronald (1965), parents William and Geneva Ricker and sisters Sarah, Hazel, Gladys and Glenna. Lovingly missed by her grandchildren Carol, Lisa, Joe and Ron, great grandchildren Kelsey, Victoria, Ryan, Sierra, Joey, Zachary and Aiden and great great grandchildren Finley and Bodhi.

We are sad to announce the passing of Shirley Sarah Marks on September 15, 2017 at her home in Fenwick. Shirley was an avid golfer and loved to volunteer at various hospitals and events around the Niagara Region. She is survived by her children Robin Marks, Joel Marks, Beatrice Matieriene and Clarence Marks. Also by her Grandchildren Clarence Gratton, Candace Nielissen, Jesse Marks, Andrew West, Zachary Marks, Evan Marks and Kingston Porter and Great Grandchilden Keagan Nielissen, Camilla Nielissen, Denahi West and Richard Gratton. Peacefully at her home in Wellandport, with her loving family by her side, on Thursday August 10, 2017 in her 80th year. Beloved wife of 57 years to Bernie. Cherished daughter of Simone Souter. Devoted mother to her five children, Karen (Milton) Gretzinger, Wendy (Mitch) Dyck, Allan (Penny) Cheynowski, Kim (Jack) Mann, and Randy (Kristen) Cheynowski. Grandmother to Brandon, Lacey, Brittany, Tyler, Mackenzie, Cody, Katie, Jake, Nicholas, Matthew and Callum. Great-grandmother to many. Loving sister of Dennis, Andy, Elizabeth, James, Elaine, Lou-Ann, Christine and Annette. Predeceased by her father Raymond, brother Harvie and her sister Dorothy. Margaret committed her entire life to her family and was a true matriarch. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and leaves behind a treasure trove of photo albums, quilts, ceramics and memories. Thank you to the nursing staff of Paramed, Dr. Elizabeth Blake, St. Elizabeth’s as well as family and friends. The family will receive friends at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME (724 Canboro Road Fenwick, Ontario) Sunday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church (834 Canboro Road) Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Zion Cemetery.
