WALERIAN (JOE) DOBRUCKI –

WALERIAN (JOE) DOBRUCKI – peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital on Sunday June 28, 2015, Walerian (Joe) Dobrucki, in his 100th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Adela (2010). Loving father of Daniel, Richard (Wiesje), and Gary (1986). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Angie Greenwood (Jim), Kim Killins (Brad) and Joe Dobrucki (Jennie), and his 8 great grandchildren Ty, Meg, Kaeli, Alexis, Sarayah, Kaleb, Ella and Audrey. Also survived by his sister Lonnie Wiencek and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Edward, Bolek and Dolek and his sisters Sophie Jablecki and Stephanie (1937). Walerian was born in the section of the Austro Hungarian Empire that became Poland after World War I, on February 26, 1916 and led an incredible life. He and his family survived a Siberian Work Camp in World War II and upon their release he fought all over the Middle East and Europe including conquering the Germans at Monte Cassino. After the War he immigrated to Canada and bought his farm in Wellandport. He lived there up until a few days before his passing. Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick. Visitation will be on Wednesday July 1, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be at St. Anns Catholic Church in Fenwick on Thursday July 2, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Welland to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

The Funeral Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, North Pelham on Wednesday June 10th at 1:00 P.M. Interment at North Pelham Cemetery to follow. DOROTHY IRENE McCARTHY

McCARTHY, DOROTHY – on Monday May 25, 2015 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Dorothy McCarthy of Fenwick/Cambridge in her 65th year. Dear mother of Daniel (Katrina), Corinna, and Michelle Clance (Bryan). Loving grandmother to Anthony, Austin, Cheyanne, Zoey, Cali and Jase. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her father Ivor and siblings Charlene Cooper (Andy), Colleen, and Ross (Lynn), as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother Irene (2006).
A Memorial Service will be held at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick on Sunday May 31st at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Service from 1:00-2:00. Donations to Juravinski Cancer Centre or Pelham Community Church would be appreciated by the family.

ERIC EGERT

EGERT, ERIC – Passed peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence in Fenwick on Sunday, May 24, 2015. Eric Egert in his 78th year, beloved husband to Gloria. Dear father of Wendy Melville (Ed), Rod (Pam), Sterling and Tyson (Heidi). Special and treasured Grampa to Brogan, Fallon, Joshua, Izach, Teegan, Eric, Curtis, Sarah and Olivia. Eric is survived by many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Rudy and grandson Trevor.
Respecting Eric’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will follow at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Road, Fenwick. A heartfelt thank you for all of the special care provided by C.C.A.C. staff, the Palliative Care Team and St. Elizabeth’s nurses which allowed Eric to pass in the home that he proudly built. GARE, RUTH – on Friday May 8, 2015 at her late residence, Ruth Gare of Fenwick in her 64th year. Loving mother of Shannon Peters and Bev Peters (Derek). Loving grandmother to Alexis, Justin and Julian. Ruth is survived by her mother Grace Potts and her five sisters and brothers in law. Predeceased by her first husband Sean Peters and her second husband Peter Gare, also by her grandson Talon.

LEROY HAYWARD

HAYWARD, LEROY – passed away peacefully at his late residence on Tuesday May 5, 2015, Leroy Hayward of Wainfleet in his 86th year. Beloved husband to Shirley. Dear father of Susan Stayzer (Brian) and Scott (Gayle). Loving grandfather to Robin (Drew), Jade (Chris), Krystal (Keith), Brock, and Kelsey. Great grandfather to Emily and Chelsea. Leroy worked at Atlas Steels for 32 years as well as on the family farm. He enjoyed his retirement, square dancing and travelling the world. He was born and lived his life on the family farm and died peacefully at home. DOUGLAS CULVER CHAMBERS

CHAMBERS, DOUGLAS CULVER – with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug in his 68th year on April 23, 2015 at his home in Cooks Mills after a brief illness. A great man, he is survived by his loving partner of 23 years, Connie Pilot Michael, son Ryan (Laura), daughter Lauren, two grandsons (“Poppa’s Boys”), Octavious and Zavien. Also survived by his brother Stan, sister Linda Kun (Dave), brothers in law Wayne Redshaw and Dennis Pilot (Angel), sisters in law Margaret Chambers, Sharon Howe (Jim), Dianne Perrella and mother in law Reta Pilot as well as several nieces and nephews.

Doug was predeceased by his parents George and Melba Chambers, sister Dianne Redshaw and father in law Andrew Pilot. He will be remembered for his passion for the outdoors, his dedication to feeding his birds, his love of the family cottage, his joy from fishing in his boat, and his love of Christmas. Doug was actively involved in sports for many years and played on multiple championship teams in baseball and hockey as a goaltender. He was also a die-hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan. Doug was a “Mr. Fix-it” and always enjoyed helping out family, neighbours and friends. He also enjoyed working on his cars, bikes, snowblowers and tractors. Doug retired from Canada Post in 2008 after many years of service. He was also employed in his early years at Fonthill Lumber. Doug had many friends at Trapper’s Sports Bar, and he especially enjoyed his Sunday Buddies, “Cement Heads”, for many years. Doug was happiest when he was with family playing pool, enjoying every moment with grandkids and sitting out back with Connie.

As per Doug’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and a private burial of his ashes will take place at a later date. A Celebration of Doug’s life will take place on Saturday May 9th at 1:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Church of God, 8652 Sodom Road, Chippawa (corner of Main and Sodom Road). Special thanks to the Walker Family Cancer Centre and Dr. Bak for their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug’s Memory to the Welland Minor Hockey Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
